PUC Lakeview Charter Academy Named 2024 California Distinguished Schools

A message from the Mr. Valadez & Mr. Castellanos:

PUC Lakeview Charter Academy has been named a 2024 California Distinguished School. This recognition is granted by the California state department of education to an exceptional group of 293 public schools across the state, only 52 of which are in LAUSD. Schools are recognized in one of two categories: those closing the achievement gap and those demonstrating exceptional student performance.

We are obviously thrilled to receive this honor. It speaks to the collaboration, dedication, and intention each teacher and staff member exuded to ensure our students are successful academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally after coming back from a global pandemic. And of course, it also speaks to the strength of our families and the greater Lakeview community.

As we all know, this work isn’t easy. Our work and professional development around embodying a “warm demander” approach while also learning to find the joy in the hard, yet critical work we do, allowed us to see significant growth in our students’ academic success. We are so proud to see our team’s dedication recognized in this way.

Thank you so much for your commitment and engagement, and for the honor of educating your student. We will continue to work tirelessly to help all of our students reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.
